Who We Are

Naveed

Naveed trained at Alhambra Arts Council in Lahore, Pakistan and immediately started his own band, creating links in the industry and securing bookings for high profile events around the country. In 2005, he released a bhangra and Punjabi pop folk album with record label, Hera. The album was a phenomenal success, leading Naveed to win several accolades for this as well as his live performances. Following these acheivements, Naveed was approached to tour the UK, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and the UAE. In 2011, Naveed was the featured artist on Venus Television, and later became a regular Art chat show presenter on the channel.

Amongst his numerous accomplishments are performances at international ambassadors’ events, Her Majesty’s Silver Jubilee and Platinum Jubilee, corporate launches as well as media network events at venues including The Natural History Museum and many other prestigious spots.

He takes inspiration from singers such as the late Kishore Kumar, Mehdi Hassan and Ghulam Ali who sing in the narrative, devotional and soulful style as well as the earthy voice of Sufi maestro Nusrat Fateh-Ali Khan.

Naveed works with a pool of talented musicians and vocal artists, which include keyboardists, male and female singers, dholak players, tabla players, guitarists, sitarists, flutists and other traditional instrumentalists. He has a versatile repertoire of songs including music from Indian and Pakistani cinema as well as Urdu rock and pop, ghazals, Sufi style music as well as original material written exclusively for him

When Naveed is not singing, he can be found in the kitchen, cooking traditional Punjabi food from his home city, Lahore. He is passionate about the distinct spiced flavours and cooking techniques of established dishes as well as innovating his own new recipes. In 2019, he started Jimmy’s Kitchen and Catering to provide a high quality traditional Punjabi offering for weddings and events.
